Protesters in Sao Paulo

"Riot police and protesters clash in Sao Paulo as US President George W Bush arrives at the start of a Latin American tour." The BBC has a great section which displays the week of news in pictures. Doesn't this image along with the caption convey a much stronger message than just a written caption alone?

Yeah, those Brazilian police officers don't mess around. It is definitely a powerful image. The perfect timing captures the intensity of the protestor and the determination of the police to stop the violence. The officer to the left appears to be in aiming at the protestor’s groin. Ouch.
It just shows that other contries express their police power more firmly than what we're used to. They do hesitate to make an example of somebody.
How do you think the public would react if the same police techniques were used in the U.S.?
