Networking?

Two Sumatran tiger cub sleep with two baby orangutans in a nursery room at the Taman Safari zoo Wednesday Feb. 28, 2007, in Bogor, Indonesia. The tiger and orangutan babies, which would never be together in the wild, have become inseparable playmates after they were abandoned by their mothers. (AP Photo/Achmad Ibrahim)
This photo could be used to show the value of networking. Networking can be made in the business world in the most unlikely of places and with the most unlikely of people. You never know what the person you are sitting next too can offer and how you could possibly help each other. These two completely different species will possibly continue to be life long friends. Keep your eyes open and you could find life long friends in the most unlikely of places.

I think what you are saying Brian is very true and can easily be related to my own life. I am currently pursuing Hotel management as my future career and this would have never happened if my best friend from highschool had not recommended me a job at the hotel he was working at. I sat down for 10 minutes talking to the HTM director about the major, the next thing I know he gets me a job working the front desk of a resort near my apartment. This just goes to show that everyone needs to be open to others, especially in business. you never know who will open up new opporunities and clients for the future.

I agree with you Brian. Networking is very important for future graduates. People never know whom and when they are going to need others help. Unfortunately for me, I have such a bad memory with faces and names (And I hope not beeing the only one).

Your photo is a very profound photo. It seems that networking is survival for these strangers. In a sense, it relates to humans because we all know that to make it in life you need to know people from different social environments.

Agreed, networking is one of the best resource to use trying to get a job. Like myself I work two part time jobs, one as a Sushi Cook and the other as an IT Tech. Both has its ins and outs. Everyday I meet someone new at my workplace and its great to have connections here and there at specific places. It usually is for the better and the benefits are awesome like for my friend that worked in Sony. After my laptop died on me I gave it to him and he fixed it for free just because we were "friends".
